Why Exercise? Part Two
By Allegra Tschappler

Thanksgiving is coming...then comes Christmas...then comes New Year's. So, why do we care about a list of the holidays? Well, if you're anything like the normal American, you will gain seven pounds over the holidays. But you don't have to gain all this weight. If you exercise regularly, say an hour a day, you can keep off a vast majority of this weight gain. The rest is up to the way you eat, but exercise will help a lot.

Not only will exercise help you keep off those dreaded pounds, it will also help you deal with the stress that always comes with baking Thanksgiving meals, inviting people, being around people for more time than you ever hoped for, wrapping presents, going to Christmas parties, etc. Lets face it: the holidays may be fun, but they can be stressful. Exercising will give you time alone, where you can refresh your outlook on life.

As usual, I would encourage you to seriously consider joining the President's Challenge to get the motivation and competition you may look for when exercising.

So get out there and exercise! It can't do any harm, and you've now got two reasons to do it.

Good job, Allegra! I think this will be great for our Thanksgiving edition. If we have room, we might want to include some Thanksgiving recipes too.
