The Healthy Effects of Precinct Walking
By Allegra Tschappler

It's not quite that time for walking precincts, but it is time to start thinking about precinct walking. Have you ever done it before? If not, I've got to say it is one of the best ways to get exercise: You not only work your body, you get volunteer hours, you help get people you want elected, and you try out your communication skills as well as honing them.

As you probably know by now, walking is so important for our bodies in several ways:
1. It improves cardiovascular health
2. It reduces the risk of heart disease and mental illness
3. It helps maintain a healthy body weight
4. Walking also helps improve resistance to sicknesses

If you get out and walk several hours a day while helping elect those you want in office, you will be doing yourself and your state government a great service. Therefore, I strongly urge you to get some flyers for your preferred government official and take a walk.
